On Tuesday, February 2, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman opened the fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of VIII convocation in compliance with Article 83 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The participants in the opening ceremony were Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, heads of executive and judicial branches of power, representatives of non-government organizations, mass media organizations, and guests of Ukraine.

The agenda of the evening meeting envisions consideration of draft laws on the financing of the road construction sector. In particular, they touch the establishment of the State Road Fund.

It is planned to amend the Penal Code of Ukraine (enhancement of protection of journalists' professional activity (second reading)).

The agenda also envisions several draft laws touching environmental protection.

Besides, it is planned to amend Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On military duty and military service" touching military training of students of higher education establishments and pharmaceutical educational establishments.

It is planned to consider amendments to Law of Ukraine "On detention."

The draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On protection of civil rights and freedoms and legal regime on temporarily occupied territories in Ukraine," submitted by people's deputy Andrii Parubii. The draft law envisions improvement of the laws on temporarily occupied territories.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Family, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism offers consideration of amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine touching stable development of physical culture and sports sector.

The Parliament works in plenary regime on February 2-5.
